Greenmount Heritage Fair
The MFHS display at the Greenmount on May 26 was a great success. MFHS used its new marquee which had been purchased under a grant from the QLD Volunteers Association. Copies of the books Early Settlers of Mackay and History of Jolimont and St Helen’s were sold. There were numerous visitors to the display, a large number of brochures were given out and many commented on the comprehensive information in the early settlers book, with some asking to have their ancestors included in the next volume.
Rotary convention
Members of MFHS attended the District Rotary Convention on 4 and 5 May at the MECC. They had a display of charts of early pioneers of Mackay and sold the book Early Settlers of Mackay. There was major interest shown by attendees in tracing their family history.

Indexing of funeral records
Indexing of the Mackay funeral director’s records has now been completed for records between 1923 and 1983. These can be a valuable source of information for family researchers so please contact MFHS if you require more information.
